I love it when functional tools can be beautiful. I needed a lightweight mallet with hard (stainless), soft (brass), and really soft (delrin plastic) tips for not marring soft materials. I made all the components from scratch on my lathe, and assembled them using thermo-expansion fits (putting one part in the freezer, and heating the other, then putting them together). The brass and delrin tips are interchangeable with a set-screw. The handle is 6061 Aluminum, and the head is 2024 Aluminum.
